The options for tile are almost limitless. It is easy to be lured in to the purchase of blending tiles, creating a mix and match elaborate pattern can be very appealing. And yet, so much can be done with a singularity of choice. If budgets are of concern (and most of us know that restraint) remember to pick a tile that can make statement in regards to the feeling or style you are trying to relay for the room.
For the French bath below color was key, in an otherwise simple subway tile. Hanging a decorative metal tile plaque above the bath gives the allure of an expensive tile mosaic. The ledges are created with simple lumber, painted in high gloss sheen matched to the tile color. The cap tile is wood again painted black.
For the Tuscany bath, plain bisque tiles were purchased and a faux paint creations were incorporated in the space to mimic accent tiles. Even the sink was given special attention by creating a wood wrap around and wooden legs, all of which were given a new life in the world of faux artistry!
