• ~The Little Cupboard~

  I have had loads of fun….the cupboards are actually now attached to the wall! And I adore the barn red paint glaze I made. For some added interest…I am toying with wood braid/twist molding. Do you like it? This little section is going to do something very special…it will hold a coffee maker… And we all know what an important appliance that is (don’t we)? LOL Did you like this?   The little parlor in The Painted Nest, is waiting… she lingers between fall and winter. Thanksgiving will find her adorned in deep rust reds. Her memory table drawer will be redone… with new treasures of family heritage. In this old room, new memories will be made. New pillows will adorn her feather sofa. • ~Rough Design Sketch~

  The next step will be to add the color…fabrics, paint, etc. ~which are leaning in the aqua blue and butter gold family. I am going to use colored pencils in my hand sketch. If it is acceptable, then I will move on to my computer aided drawing tablet and begin the real life rendering. What do you think? • My First “Trash to Treasure Tuesday” ~ Picture

  MMM…what is it? Perhaps an old vintage stove’s vent trim… The Muse loves circles…so as soon as it was “spied” for .25, it was soooo purchased on the spot! LOL We can all agree, this needs work! Paint brushes to the ready…(nothing is safe at the Painted Nest)! Copper, gold, and antique white…Paint on….wiped off…over & over (what fun!) And then at last…Inspiration!   White dishware can offer so many options… Each holiday or event can be celebrated with basic pieces of white china or stoneware.
