Tablescape And Trash To Treasure All In One

Acres of hidden treasure…
In boxes and bins…
All holding hidden beauty…
All latent~silent gems…
Under piles amassed…

A hoarder’s stash…
Of would be~could be…
And should have beens.

The Muse gathered her coinage…
And smartly thus…
Bought a wondrous bounty…
As to make pirates lust….

A silver teapot battered about…
A bird whose wing was weak…
Not secure or truly stout…
Paper roses wrinkled and worn…
Their edges thread tattered and torn…
Potpourri whose scent had gone…
Yes, the list of loot went on and on…

Golden water goblets…
The color of sunrise at dawn…
And stands of crystal
Where once~long ago…
Lamps had sat upon…

Coming to grips…
With her chosen lot…
It was a bargain~a deal…
This thrifty Muse sought…

So…
She offered a smile…
And paused…

She offered a nod…
And paused…

She offered a thoughtful glance…
A pondering moment…
As if…
By chance…

She might~she may…
Yes~just may…
Consider not buying…
Anything this day…

In a moment of time…
That the Muse…
Knows so well…
A voice said ,…
“Oh, come now…
let’s make a sale”…

So the bartering began…
And the Muse…
Made her stand…
As only the Muse can…

She left with her bargains…
With change still in her pocket…
And still had enough…
For a little vintage locket…
(ooops, we shall save that for another day’s blog)

Little bits…hmmmm I wonder…hmmmm
Yes, let’s put the potpourri in some tulle …and add scent.
And can I wire these roses together? Let’s try…ahhh, good!
Now little bird….a tiny mending of your wing, and now I shall find you a new home…perched upon a bed of “teapotted” roses :)

Golden goblets certainly of days gone by, and yet…perhaps with white…with black…what will you become? And the stands of course must become candlesticks..that is the vision…let’s try our pirate’s bounty…

Success !!

  • The Muse says:

    Ought oh!
Pardon me, my “rhyming slip” is showing(that’s what I get for composing prose in the dark)!

Goodness, I promise to try and be a little more…Muse like~and careful, in the future.

However, I cannot guarantee that my “rhyme slip” may not peep beneath my hem every now and then…as I am quite old.

I hope no one was truly offended, if you have been, please accept my sincerest apologies…(I want to keep a G rating for my blog).

My intent was certainly not to offend or over stimulate anyone…with a glimpse of my flirty, haphazard, lace trimmed, sweetly scented, bargain purchased display of an gentle old Muse’s “rhyming slip”.
    (insert fluttering eyelash movement here).

LOL Have a great day everyone! :)

Oh Muse…What wonders you have wrought! What good use you made of your finds. I have to admit that I don’t have your vision. However, methinks I spied me a little headboardy in the first pic…hmmm…now how to get it in my teensy car? Happy New Year…Debbie

  • Speedcat Hollydale says:

Rags to riches … junk to treasure???

    Shazam!

    I like this part,

    “So the bartering began…
    And the Muse…
    Made her stand…
    As only the Muse can…”

I actually LIKE making deals, and haggling. As an old salesman from my earlier days (1980′s) – a little exchange of price reduction sparks a little fire in me :-)

Happy New Year to YOU !!!!!!
