Way ~ Back ~ When ~ Wednesday

I take you back…
To memories sweet…
Of things remembered…
In your sleep.

Bring them now…
To share the light…
To smile of things…
Oh so bright.

Cradled deep…
In hearts and souls….
Listen now…
For they be told…
Remembered by…
Both young and old.

(2008 The Muse)

I think I am hooked on your blog!
I loved so many of the Lucy shows… I loved all her craziness and I am with the Cookie Girl and find myself in the same type of pickles all the time.
The Long, long Trailer was hysterical and I enjoyed her always trying to get on Desi’s show. Wait, maybe it was Lucy and Ethel in the chocolate factory… They are all fabulous!

    Beth

  • The W.O.W. factor says:

    I love your place here!!
When Lucy was at the cookie factory trying to keep up and having to eat mouthfuls of the dough, would be ONE of my favorites.
Merry Christmas back at you Farm girl from another!

The one in the chocolate factory where she started stuffing her mouth with all the chocolates that were getting away. It has me rolling every time I watch it!

I am not fond of the Lucy show. I like drama or Dr. G., A&E,Something that makes me think. Kathy

  • Genie Sea says:

That right there, is my favorite Lucy episode. I loved watching that show, even though it was outdated by the time I saw it, in my child’s eye, it was magical. The zaniness and freedom from “the right thing to do” absolutely delighted and still delights me.

Thank you for the awesome reminder and the beautiful poem. :)

  • White Iris Designs says:

That would have to be a toss up between the Chocolate factory & the stomping the grapes episodes.
I remember watching that everyday as a you girl.
I see a lot of Lucy & Ethel in Gertie & Iris…….what adventures they have!!!
    xo

  • profenretraite says:

Oh Muse…Please don’t be mad at me, but I never could watch Lucy. I was soooo embarrassed for her that it was too painful to watch! My sister, on the other hand, was addicted. I loved your poem, though! …Debbie

  • Gran says:

I love the one you show above, but my favorite one will always be when Lucy tries to sell Vita Vita Vegamin (sp) and she gets roaring drunk.

    Love your poem, as always.

  • raquel roysdon says:

My favorite I would have to agree with Tammy, the stomping on the grapes. I also enjoyed the shows when Desi performed.

  • niartist says:

Love your poem, and my favorite episode is where Lucy goes to pick up the check for Ricky’s nephew at the pizza place, but he still has to work a day to get it, so she steps in, and she’s completely a mess with the dough! Do you remember that one? Anyway – it was HILARIOUS! She threw the pizza dough up into the A/C turbine, and then after a few minutes, it landed right smack on her head. I used to love watching Nick at Night with my mother … thanks for conjuring up those joyful memories.

  • Terrie's Lil' Piece of Serenity says:

I love your blog and your poetry.
I do love Lucy. I really don’t have a favorite episode.

I am going to add you to my favorite. I hope that’s ok.

  • ConversationsWithACupcake says:

    Oh! Oh!
    Me! Me!

My 8 year old has been working her way through the entire set of shows. Dontchya just LOVE when your kids are saavy and can appreciate great, vintage comedy?!

    Favorite episode of all time…

    The Grape Stomping
    and Vitameatavegamin
and when Lucy uses the fake Ricky that gets stuck to her dress during a show and then she’s offered a contract but Ricky tricks her out of signing it.
    and…

Oh. I can’t decide. I adore them all. Every. Last. One.

Thanks for a morning full of musing.

  • Deb says:

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my post and with kind and wonderful words! My favorite episode of Lucy is also the Stomping Grapes episode. I love how Lucy’s character and the look on her face showed that she wasn’t about to be pushed around by anyone, and that she could hold her own. Deb

  • Pan Historia says:

I think I might like the Vegivitamnite or whatever they called that product and it had tons of booze in it and she had to keep reshooting the scene.

  • Donna@designson47thstreet says:

My girlfriend(Tammy) and I have always been called Lucy and Ethel. I’m Lucy! I guess my favorite would be the chocolate factory episode. I could see me and Tammy doing that! Also, I loved how they lived in the same apartment building and they just came and went as they wanted, to each other’s apartment without even knocking! Oh and I also loved the one where they planted the wax flowers in their flowerbed and the sun started to make them melt! Too funny!

I had many favorites but the candy factory and grape smashing were my favorite. My Aunt reminds me of Lucy and my Mom says there are a lot of times I remind her of my aunt..so does that mean I too remind her of Lucy?…lol…

    Thanks for sharing.

    Bec

  • Wanda says:

I was a lucy fan as well but I really liked her best in her first movies, when she was so stylish and beautiful. Muse, it is in the mail, I hope you enjoy them. Once again I would like to thank you for your purchase, but most of all for your interest in my blog, it makes my heart happy. Stop by often. TTFN

  • Not Your Average Belle says:

I haven’t seem many “Lucy” episodes, but I know the classics – the chocolate factory and wine making never fail to make me laugh!

  • Rue says:

    Hi Muse :)

I love Lucy… that show was always funny, but it looks like I’m the odd ball (not surprising LOL). My favorite is the one where she tells Ricky that she’s having a baby by sending him a note while he’s singing and they both start crying when he figures it out.

    I’m such a sentimental fool… :)

I would have to agree with most everyone else, it is really tough to pick a favorite Lucy episode, but of course the candy factory rates high.

    Love the poem.

  • Rebel says:

My very favorite Lucy show was the stompin’ of the grapes. The one you have showin was good too. I loved her movie, ‘The Long, Long Trailer.’

  • LisaLisa says:

I love the stomping of the grapes…but I really like the one where Lucy and Ethel played a joke on Ricky and Frank telling them that they had been robbed. I LOVVVVVVE I LOVE LUCY!!!

  • Sandi McBride says:

Lucy and the gang had traveled to Scotland and Lucy dreamed that there was a dragon out to kill her, the last of the McGillicuddy clan…the dragon was a two headed one…Ethel and Fred…I loved Lucy…lol…
    Sandi

  • Simply Dandy says:

My absolute favorite episode is when Lucy and Ricky have moved to the country and Lucy buys new furniture after Ricky tells her not to. It reminds me of some my silly antics.

    Hugs,
    LeAnn:)

  • Tracy says:

I love them all of course-but my favorite is probably the one where she is doing the commercial for I think”Vegimite” and was getting drunk from it and couldn’t get the words right-HILAROIUS! Nothing on TV like that anymore!
    Tracy
