THERE WILL BE A QUIZ !

Muse, how were you inspired to begin writing?

I simply adore the art of cursive manuscript, (and calligraphy) my Nanny’s handwriting was a billowy, flowing, swirling concoction of thoughts and ideas on paper…just looking at it made it me happy…I wanted to mimic that….and so, before I even knew what I was actually doing, I was tracing her handwriting. From there on it was pen and paper…yes I do type from necessity, but it all starts on paper….the family story goes I was born with a pen in my hand, a smile on my face and a story to tell from my soul…!

My first poem was kindergarten and is actually pasted in my childhood scrapbook….I wrote it to a particularly nasty neighborhood boy…

u r meen.
meenizt boy i evur seen.

LOL LOL, my mother was presented that poem from his mom! Seems he couldn’t read it…so he asked his mom for some help…LOL !

(to this day it amazes me that I could get so close to the words Meanest and Ever..and nail the word seen, but just could not spell the words You and Are! LOL )

To those of us who know you, it seems that being The Muse and Motivator is your full time profession. Do you have other business pursuits and/or hobbies?

Oh yes, I am a mother, well my sons are grown, but we never stop being that I supppose…LOL…I am a wife to a very lucky man, who I utterly adore….(ok he’s left the room, so adore him? ok, 99% of the time…! )…I am a farmer…very, very hard work, but oh so satisfying. I am an inspirational speaker and a designer and that my friend covers a lot of ground with me…art, jewelry, architectural structure, internet…LOL you name it and I have probably designed one…LOL. With over 20 years of clients under my design belt…I guess I can now say I am “legit”. LOL

I love to write of course, poetry/prose… and other genres. Although my technical writing has garnered much success…I have always felt passionately drawn to prose. It allows me the opportunity to explore the deeper meaning of myself.

I compare my technical writing and prose to designing a space versus creating art. All these things can be beautiful, however, there are levels of self-expression. The higher the level, the more in love we become with the final outcome.

A few of my other interests, I enjoying singing, gardening, playing with my grandchildren and my pets (the zoo), and I love to travel !

How do you balance them all?

Balance??? Uhhhhhh……balance……is this a 3 part series? LOL

Honestly, there are moments which get lost…when I must decide where to go and what to do…I always TRY to do it all…but that never happens, those 3 hours of sleep rush in and ruin everything!

Does that prolific motor of poetry and prose ever stall out?

Goodness, if I cannot be outside, I cannot write.

I have tried to write without walking and been blocked, locked and stalled!

My passion for the language is without end and it seems as if the fuel for that flame exists in the very air of the woods…words simply come to me there…then thoughts, and emotions. I begin to literally become each and every character, I know them as I know myself, and suddenly the stories evolve. I am furiously putting pen to paper, in MUSE code LOL…it is a feeling of utter bliss.

Do you have a website?

Yes, www.i-am-the-muse.com

I am working on adding a live chat room and an audio section where The Muse works can be purchased and listened to….

Do you blog?

I try to visit many other friends blogs, there are over 300 right now, so it can be hard…many times I find blogs with no comments…that makes me very sad.

There are companies who have asked me to blog for them…however, I am not sure my schedule will permit. Plus, I like the freedom of being independent, unfettered and unrestrained.

As a writer, blogging is rather complex, you want to write…but you must decide, do you actually give away your work, and if so to what degree….yes writers and blogs…a waltz.

What is the best and worst experiences you have had blogging?

Worst:
1. Comments

a. “How bogus!”
b. “You call this poetry?”

c. “I’d be ashamed to publish this-you su**!”
d. “Keep your feelings to yourself.”
e. “You are a sell out.”
2. Software Issues

a. Losing readers, because you can’t follow(Google only allows you to put 200 on your dashboard)…and they want quid pro quo.
b. At the mercy of google, blogger, worpress etc… to have a steady bug free operation…which doesn’t always happen.

3. Human Error
a. Mine (lol)

BEST:
1. Comments that let me
know someone was really moved by my words, art or humor.

2. Friendships I have made, remarkable heart felt friendships.

3. Business Relationships/networking contacts I have added to my businesses.
4. Personal growth I have achieved.

What advice or inspiration and motivation you have for other writers and/or women in business?

Don’t stop. Don’t ever stop. Sure, you can take a break, a rest…but to quit, is to be defeated! Also, gather around you supporters, friends, family and more! I have found some wonderful bonding relationships and it is mind boggling how uplifting and secure it can make you feel!

Reach for the Stars

In no other manner, will we find true contentment, than if we reach ever upward…and walk ever forward. The past experiences of our lives should be used to guide us in making wise decisions for the future. We are certainly not to dwell in the past, and to do so is lingering in a world that no longer exists.

The success of each us as individual is not defined by others, but defined by ourselves. If indeed we are purposeful, faithful, and motivated…the pursuit of our dreams becomes a rapturous journey unto itself. And we remarkably find that amidst the struggle and turmoil of life…there have been infinite sparks of creativity, passion and drive residing in our hearts, our minds and our souls. For me…that has been a marked blessing and the greatest of joys! So, by reaching for the stars our ultimate rewards will be far greater than one can fathom.

Are you going to

Reach For The Stars Today?
I know I am.
