(from a trash to treasure event?)

I made such a “to do” … the price and the pattern.
I created a treasure and blogged about them.
It must have really made an impact
on my number one fan…
For today he brings me this!

Let’s explore the cottage… I so want to paint that dark wall……….. The lamp was a broken little thing, cast off, unloved…I rewired it and added a 6 color aging…it just looks like it has been loved all it’s life now! And the shade..well my third shade (i am getting a wee bit better). Loved that blue and ……”antique cream” print, go figure…LOL When I was supposedly done, it did not look done…My beloved asked me…”where is the musey-ness?” Immediately, [...]
Keeping it cozy in taupe ~ The defining pieces are the chandelier, once brass…no problem, spray painted black it warms up the space. Once heavy drapes replaced now with a simple pumpkin linen. Once red brick was too brash, answer..Paint! The finale to this room was not to simply disguise a no longer used fireplace, but to make the space work…just in a different way. A custom designed unit was built to complete the “meant to always be here” look [...]
Short & Sweet Isn’t she lovely? Yes, I dreamed her… And on Saturday… She began to come alive! I cannot wait to see her… (and all 23 of her sisters!) Come and see what other Blue floats about… http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ And say Hello to Ms Sally~ On this Blue Monday *PS … RHYME Time Monday is right below Did you like this? Share it:Tweet
Official snow count…40 inches. Farming is hard work in the best of weather, but in winter…the true love of the craft comes to light. There is no one else in this world that has my undying adoration, than my beloved. He rises at 4 am…and works most days till hours not fit for man nor beast. The latest snow storm was so massive, that he had to walk the West 60 meadow to get a tractor. Why? Because the tractors [...]
I have had loads of fun….the cupboards are actually now attached to the wall! And I adore the barn red paint glaze I made. For some added interest…I am toying with wood braid/twist molding. Do you like it? This little section is going to do something very special…it will hold a coffee maker… And we all know what an important appliance that is (don’t we)? LOL Did you like this? (pictures follow) We are thankful that a marvelous Christmas season was had…one that allowed all of our family to be together, sons, daughters, grandchildren and my husband’s father. Dad has been in the hospital for weeks now and we miss him. We found out today that he has begun to bleed in his stomach again. The prognosis is not good. Our hearts are low. We think back to the last times we were all together…Christmas. A season of love. Very [...]

Here I sit. Out my cottage window is a winter wonderland of sorts…icy drapes, snuggle my evergreens. Here I sit. I long for warmth on my face…I long to walk in my beloved woods. Here I sit. I yearn to open my cottage windows and doors…to let the breezes flow. I dream of hearing the screen doors squeak…a gentle hello as I pass to the porch. My mind is swirling with the wonderful designs playing about in my mind. Here I sit. [...]

There are always rooms and spaces at The Painted Nest which need some sprucing up. Our beloved cottage is in a constant state of “creation”. And I love it, I certainly do For me, color is my companion. So imagine my beloved’s shock, when this color palette was placed before him! Admittedly, this would be a new path for me. The Muse has creamy antique white accents throughout her cottage…but there is not a room which totally embraces the hue. [...]
