The little parlor in The Painted Nest, is waiting… she lingers between fall and winter. Thanksgiving will find her adorned in deep rust reds. Her memory table drawer will be redone… with new treasures of family heritage. In this old room, new memories will be made. New pillows will adorn her feather sofa. Little hearts filled with expectation will giggle and shout. I love the word “home”, don’t you? Did you like this? Share it:Tweet
As I sit here, nestled and warm, within my studio walls…I peer out onto several feet of freshly fallen snow. And no matter how much angst it has caused…one has to recognize the beauty it inheritantly possesses. Why then, can I not look past what I see in the mirror today? Sunken cheeks, dark circles, pallid skin. I sigh… It is a resolute sigh, but not one of defeat. For I will rise beyond this moment… I will find that [...]
Do you recall the warmth of the sun… The gentle breezes… The chirping of feathered friends? Do you recall the sound of the water… The bubbling brooks… Or the swishing of the lake? Do you recall the aroma of your garden… The sounds of crickets… The buzzing of bees? Those days have gone… They are wrapped in crystal cocoon.. A very ICY, FROZEN, COLD and WINTRY cocoon! (oh, I need to change the camera date …lol oh well at least [...]
A farm gal Muse has lot’s to do… She tromps through mud in boots not shoes. Our little feathered cuties need lots of care… Warm fall sun and cool crisp air. Clucking and chirping a barn yard tune… They sing until they spy the moon! (aren’t they cute?) Did you like this? Share it:Tweet

Brave Bird ~ Blue Monday ~ Image
BRAVE BIRD Hear my faint and tender pleas… Gently carried upon the breeze… I grow cold and the world grows dark… I can find no sparrows, finches or larks… The trees give me no shelter, no haven to rest… I search endless hours to find a warm nest… The first to arrive, I am brave, yes I know… But this little robin, doesn’t like the snow! (another work from the young Muse, age 12) Seen here 2009 Submitted as participation [...]
Ding Dong…Ding Dong… The Postman Rang Twice… Shall we open the box together…? Oh goodness..Wisteria. Let’s! Isn’t this gorgeous? The Muse loves the color! Mmmmm where will it go? Perhaps in front of the fireplace in the painted parlor…perhaps. I do believe that my beloved has been peeking into my well loved Wisteria catalog! Its pages are well worn…with my wish list items circled, starred and rated. Now there is another box…shall we open, or have tea first? Tea first, [...]
Spring ! She has burst forth Ever fruitful Ever bearing And all her beauty She is sharing… Amidst the cold And dark deep nights She slept In waiting For this, her plight… To linger with us But for a moment In time… Mere days To display Her greenery So fine! (a Muse piece written age 13, (a very good year…LOL) Miss you all… And Thank you for all the warm blessings and sweet hellos! Did you like this? Share it:Tweet
Rules of Play: (1) I (The Muse) offer my first reader a set of words. (2) The first blog reader must take those words and use them to make a coherent sentence. Posting it in the comment box (3) Then, the next reader, must use the SAME words (originally given, by The Muse) and make ANOTHER sentence. ******************************* It will look something like this: Muse gives the words: cat, mouse and dog 1st reader: The cat chased the mouse while [...]
Weathered? yes. Worn? yes. Forgotten? never. A faded whiteness, almost gray… Called out to me… Across the market way… I rushed to touch… The grainy sides… The cool concrete… Caused my pulse to rise… Its hefty weight… Of giant mass… Would find a home… It would be mine at last… Muse 2010 There are few things as thrilling, as spying a used treasure and being able to bring it home…I think this urn has a new life in its future, perhaps a [...]

Welcome To: Tuesday’s This & That Game: Muse makes a statement which must include ONE letter A. The next reader must include a statement which includes ONE letter B, (and this continues through the alphabet). If, there are more than 26 comments…the cycle continues but will begin anew with the statements having TWO letter A(s), then the next will have TWO letter B(s) etc. The goal is to make the story fit the “lovely photo” (LOL). The shot is courtesy [...]
Keeping it cozy in taupe ~ The defining pieces are the chandelier, once brass…no problem, spray painted black it warms up the space. Once heavy drapes replaced now with a simple pumpkin linen. Once red brick was too brash, answer..Paint! The finale to this room was not to simply disguise a no longer used fireplace, but to make the space work…just in a different way. A custom designed unit was built to complete the “meant to always be here” look [...]

Monday’s Post ~ Prose & Blue Monday
When I was very young, (and still~even now) I would look at pictures ~ paintings…and make up stories! At times, they were not exactly as the artist had intended… Such is this work of a young, (oh, so young Muse), who fell under an enchanting spell of Tristan and Isolde. The Plummet A little maiden stood… Up high above the earth… The little m aid knew not… Her weight or girth… For suddenly… The sky gave way… And she fell [...]
Rules of Play: (1) I (The Muse) offer my first reader a word. (2) They must take that word and use it in a sentence. Posting it in the comment box (3) Then they must GIVE another word, whose letter starts with the last letter of the previous word…. Shall we play? The word which I gift to thee is: Customary (so the very next reader, should use the word customary in a sentence…and then offer up a NEW word, [...]

Great photos! Both tell a story… with no words!
The architecture of the church is amazing…
Bravery at it’s finest…
With both photos…not only does the word WINTER come to mind, but more so the word PRAYER does…
One houses it and one requires it!!
Happy Outdoor Wednesday! Thanks for sharing a couple great photos!
Muse, that first photograph is gorgeous, and the second one is, too, but in a different way… how gorgeous is freedom and those who protect it.

Yes, its very possible!
Lovely photos. Your wordless Wednesday has left me speechless.
To me the first picture is where we ask for protection and the 2nd is how we receive it. Both beautiful photos unrelated at first but they are tied together both in the season and hope they exude.

The first one is Notre-Dame Cathedral isn’t it? I have only seen it during the day how lovely it looks at night all lit up.
The bottom one makes me think of my brother a member of the army reserves.
Excellent choices!

I bet the soldiers’ hearts are way more heavier than their uniforms and guns. When we have loved ones around us, every day is worth celebrating.
