Here is a little sitting area, at our home, ”The Painted Nest”. We use it mostly as a place to put on and take off our shoes. The chair, a vintage flea market find for $2.00, was in bad shape visually, but quite sound, structurally. So, The Muse was quick to grab this treasure! Upon bringing it back to the studio…it was sanded down~stained~glazed~the cane insets, painted a crackle white~the velvet green was painted with a hand-mixed fabric dye~and lastly, [...]

I am not really sure that you can put a specific design name to The Painted Nest. Our cottage doesn’t fall into one style category, for it reflects not only our farm life…but our outside interests. (click pics to enlarge~if you dare!) Items we have gathered on our travels here and abroad…fill our home…as well as wondrous treasures passed from generation to generation. And there are handmade treasures that tell secret stories. For years…our cottage was all white. Various shades of white…aged [...]

It was with joy I read your sweet comment. You have been missed!
As I watch our little ones play, I too pray, let the ‘trouble be in our day’ and not on their precious shoulders to bear.
With a dear friend, father of four serving in Afganistan and others serving in Iraq, so much gratitude from my heart goes to them, to their families and ALL who are serving to keep our dear country free. We are praying for peace!
Dear Muse, You truly are extraordinary! Thank You!
Much Love to you!:-)
That is an incredible quote. If only we could all work for peace simultaneously…we just might make it happen.
