~Design Dissection: Vignette~

Today let’s look at this table’s vignette.  Almost all of us, at one time or another, have had an opportunity to create a buffet~or serving station.

What can you do, in order to avoid, the dreaded and ho~hum “runway” look, which entails mind numbing miles of flatness.

This recent design offers many fantastic design clues.  Can you name them?

1. Varied Heights (think lift…3 levels is ideal)

2. Varied Textures (entice not only the taste palette but all the senses)

3. Varied Colors (use items that mimic or flatter the color of your food)

4. The Unexpected (make your table unforgettable~add items that provoke and promote emotion)

May this indeed, be your day!

Love,

Muse

  • Fit for a Queen…I mean a Muse!
Let’s have a slice of cake, catch up on all the latest gossip (wink) & oh yes, I’ll have a drip of honey in my tea, please. When in doubt pinkies out….

I thought perhaps the addition of a musical instrument might be over the top, but then, what is Musey-ness if not over the top, right? LOL

And indeed, I can certainly imagine the festivities of good friends…savoring the moment…with a robust passion for life!

Oh yes, as always…pinkies out! LOL

Good morning Muse. I so enjoy your comments and thank you for the kind words about my sister. So far we know nothing.

I like your dissection of the table vignette. It is good to know. I love setting a pretty table. I am limited because my harvest table is so narrow. I keep trying!

Have a happy day, hugs, Jeanne

Good afternoon Ms Jeanne :) I will keep your sister in prayer here and hope to hear that all is well.~
Thank you for your time and sweet words about the little post.
In regards to your harvest table, we are planning on putting a harvest table in the great room (all the grandkids)! So I am sure that new DESIGN Vignette ventures await!
    Perhaps our ventures will coincide?
