If budgets are of concern (and most of us know that restraint) remember to pick a tile that can make statement in regards to the feeling or style you are trying to relay for the room. For [...]

Here is a little sitting area, at our home, ”The Painted Nest”. We use it mostly as a place to put on and take off our shoes. The chair, a vintage flea market find for $2.00, was in bad shape visually, but quite sound, structurally. So, The Muse was quick to grab this treasure! Upon bringing it back to the studio…it was sanded down~stained~glazed~the cane insets, painted a crackle white~the velvet green was painted with a hand-mixed fabric dye~and lastly, [...]
Brave Bird ~ Blue Monday ~ Image
BRAVE BIRD Hear my faint and tender pleas… Gently carried upon the breeze… I grow cold and the world grows dark… I can find no sparrows, finches or larks… The trees give me no shelter, no haven to rest… I search endless hours to find a warm nest… The first to arrive, I am brave, yes I know… But this little robin, doesn’t like the snow! Rules of Play: (1) I (The Muse) offer my first reader a word. (2) They must take that word and use it in a sentence. Posting it in the comment box (3) Then they must GIVE another word, which will be the NEXT reader’s Gift. Shall we play? The word which I gift to thee is: Effulgence Did you like this? Share it:Tweet
The next step will be to add the color…fabrics, paint, etc. ~which are leaning in the aqua blue and butter gold family. I am going to use colored pencils in my hand sketch. If it is acceptable, then I will move on to my computer aided drawing tablet and begin the real life rendering. What do you think? From traditional to contemporary… Design takes many paths… Which path is your home on? Did you like this? Share it:Tweet

Listen now… For they be told… Remembered by… Both young and old. (2008 The Muse) Question this week for my readers is this: What episode of I LOVE LUCY was/is your favorite? Did you like this? Posting it in the comment box (3) Then they must GIVE another word, whose letter starts with the last letter of the previous word…. Shall we play? Very nice
Hi, Muse! For some reason, I’m locked out of the sanctuary again. But I’m coming by to send all my best wishes to you. I mentioned you in a post today. Thanked you once again for making me a feature blog on your site last year. I’m not even sure if you saw the first thank you or not because you were so busy then, but here’s a second one for you, too!
XO,
Sheila
Great shot!
I like that soft shade.
Wow what a great blog, I loved it.
I will be back, Hugs Laura.
If you are frozen like we are in Reno, you should pack that bag and head south. Someone I know just got back from a vacation in Puerto Rico and it was 80+ with warm water to swim in.
Ooooo, a trip! Where are you going? or coming from?
Thanks for the visit and comment over at my spot
