~Almost Home~

Official snow count…40 inches. Farming is hard work in the best of weather, but in winter…the true love of the craft comes to light.  There is no one else in this world that has my undying adoration, than my beloved. He rises at 4 am…and works most days till hours not fit for man nor beast. The latest snow storm was so massive, that he had to walk the West 60 meadow to get a tractor. Why? Because the tractors we keep close to home…he had let others borrow so that they would not be shut in…and during all that transfer time…the snow came…it came so quickly, so furiously…and resulted in visibility~zero. And thus, this man of many tractors…waited for the storm to pass. What came, was azure blue skies…clouds of crinoline and snow so deep it hid smaller mountains from view.   He also found closed roads..impassable.  He found he had to walk…and walk…and walk.  Without fanfare he marched. Without asking he marched. He is my hero.

Thank You Sally…for another joyous Blue Monday

Take time to visit…you will glad you did!

What a lovely post, Muse, and it sounds like Mr. Muse is equally as thoughtful as his wife.

A very nice post for today. You have my sympathy, as we had fourteen inches and so much damage, but that is nothing compared to you. I do not see how he could walk that much. He must be very strong and healthy.

Oh My! I’m afraid if you keep this up, I will be in love with your beloved! A kind, generous man, who can cook, and who walks through snow to accomplish his farm chores before daylight dawns! I’m thinking he is a man who inspires poetry. How forttutious and uwonderful that his beloved is a poet! laurie

I know my husband spent hours and hours helping others get their driveways open just because he could. Sounds like yours is a big hearted man, as well.

    Love these kinds of posts.

I am just back from a very cold walk with the dogs and am enjoying the Blue Monday list!

Good morning Muse. I won’t complain about our snow ever again. Wow, that is mega snow. We lived on a dairy farm when we were small. I remember mega snow that covered our door to our farm house. We lived in MI. My dad would dig out a tunnel so we could get our back door. As a kid I thought that was fun. Now I realize what a huge job that was.

Your hubby is a keeper. He would give some one in need his last dollar kind of guy. The amount of snow he had to get through is amazing. Farming is a very hard job.

    Love your photo too.
    Hugs, Jeanne
