I dream…yes, I dream of sounds; fish splashing, birds chirping, darting to and fro…I dream of the lake…the sound of our boat churning…the grandchildren’s laughter as they swim…All those lovely sounds.
Then, I dream of scents. The lush aromas of lovely gardens that have my mark…of raw wood that has aged for decades…of rusty metal that sizzles in the summer sun. 
I dream of barbeques and fresh fruit…the scent of freshly mowed grass…of horse feed fresh from the silo. The pugent scent of fireworks as they pierce the night sky. But that is all I have right now, just a dreamFor now…I live the moments, warm and cozy…nestled in my Painted Nest. Reading poetry and putting my quill to parchment each day. I have my family treasures about me, faded photographs, old letters and odd bits of life’s passions whose secrets are not known. For now, I nest…I putter and I fluff. I savor passementerie and fabrics. Stitching pillows like a frenzied tailor. I have seen my design forged in iron…and hung upon my door. Still the Muse must add to them…and the paints are brought forth. A sense of peace has come over me…I embrace winter and thank Heaven for her gifts.

Thanks for taking me along in your dreams into that which you hold so close to your heart. I love your gardens, your lake and the personal touch you leave everywhere. I can almost hear your grand~loves laughter as your son’s play with them in the lake.
Time is flying by and I am finding solace and peace in each of the seasons I get to enjoy.

PS Do you have a vineyard? I had Mr B stop at one, so I could take pictures along the highway. The rolling lush hills and woods are so gorgeous. It is a view I can bring to mind, which relaxes me in the dentist chair, when I need to escape!!!:-)

I too am anxiously await for the new birth of spring….oh just a peek of green would be grand!
Beth: No vineyard..not yet, say it loud enough and it will be on my beloved’s list! we are very close to some lovely vineyards though and visit often. (ooo dentist visit…eeek)
