~Yearn For The Urn~

Weathered? yes.

Worn? yes.

Forgotten? never.

A faded whiteness, almost gray…

Called out to me…

Across the market way…

I rushed to touch…

The grainy sides…

The cool concrete…

Caused my pulse to rise…

Its hefty weight…

Of giant mass…

Would find a home…

It would be mine at last…

Muse 2010

There are few things as thrilling, as spying a used treasure and being able to  bring it home…I think this urn has a new life in its future, perhaps a fountain…we shall see.

  • Ooooo so jealous of this find….I fear had I been with you on this treasure hunt we would have had to thrown a little “ROCK ~ PAPER ~ SISSORS” on this one. LOVE IT!! I saw it & my wheels began to turn, just as I know that is what happened when you saw it as well.
    Well done, Sis. :)

How beautiful! It looks huge in the picture. I can imagine it in a garden with water flowing. I love finding treasures at antique and thrift stores.

  • Laurie says:

Oh, it is beautiful, and I have lived that poem many a time as I searched for a beautiful bargain! laurie

Hello Muse, I have been so busy with our puppy getting spayed and then taking care of her. She is spoiled and wants to be held constantly. My computer and Cheri do not fit in my lap at the same time. LOL. I use a laptop only. She is so small and helpless.

The urn is lovely. I am always looking at items to enhance our flower garden. A lovely addition anywhere.

    Hugs, Jeanne

ahhh Ms. Muse, I know the sound of an object ‘calling my name’…seems the urn had you in it’s sight…:))

  • The Muse says:

it is indeed a large piece…it was a bear to load in the truck…lol…but even my beloved admits, it was well worth the effort :)

  • Shannie says:

Thank you for telling us about your post. We all loved reading this and are so happy that you loved the piece enough to write about it so sweetly. Can we put this in the shop? It is a definite first for us!
