There once was a sofa…a sweetheart of a gal, who loved denim. Her favorite skirt was denim too…with a bit of tassel and fluff. Can you catch a peek?
(Plain to see she is a cottage farm gal, what high society folk call~unpretentious.
Then one day, she fancied a blouse made of suede. And her friend the Muse made her one, a custom fit…true to her form.It looks lovely on her, don’t you agree?
While out and about…she decided she wanted earrings. So the Muse stitched and stitched and made these…So casual, so carefree, so colorful. And definitely plump.
This begins her metamorphosis. Let’s take a look in her changing room, I’m sure she’s not in a state of complete undress.
Here she is adorned, with her jewels and her shawl (made too by the Muse). She is still looking for a larger handbag (see center) which will work with her french cushion creation (made by, guess who).
This is her escort. He is stout fellow. Today he is wearing suede. And his ascot is an vintage toile print. Rust red on one side…and hand-painted on the other.
Today, he is going to bring his love a bouquet of flowers.
Vintage 1964 needlepoint flowers, made by the Muse’s Nanny.
I think there is love in the air! Mmmm that may explain the set of little footstools that mysteriously appeared in the Muse’s Painted Nest Cottage.
LOL
Here is a peek of some more wonderful goodies…for great things await the cottage

You really did a lovely job creating this lady’s new wardrobe! She is going to be the envy of all her her neighbor ladies. They will all look so drab and dreary compared to her new finery!
Hi Diann, Happy Blue Monday to you…why thank you for the compliment…that gal has quite a wardrobe…this is her dressed down and casual look!
A wonderful job on a lot of lovely blues.
LV…the slipcovers(denim) was the hardest…but well worth the effort
Love, love, love the transformation here! The back tufted cushion is quite impressive!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! My heart nearly skipped a beat when I read you have “antique and vintage trim and fabrics pinned together”! Would love to see what your making!
You helped that old couch live longer. Good job! Happy Blue Monday.
Ms Sally…yes, LOL, she does have some age on her…but she still sits well! lol
Karen…ah, another fabric lover? Great to meet you
It is my hope to be able to share more…and fingers crossed this summer with a better camera
She is quite a nice looking gal all decked up with her accessories created with a loving hand. The tufted backing is a work of art. The vintage 1964 needlework is impressive. She looks as if begging all to sit down and have a great chat.:)
Enjoy a Happy Day!
I am far behind in getting anything done and it looks as if my grands are going to keep me that way! I guess this is heaven?:)
Nice change
Happy Blue Monday!
Love what you did with the sofa. I love the pillows! Happy Blue Monday.
Mine is here.
Is there no end to your talents, Muse? You are a marvel!
And I adore that chinoserie pillow. I have been looking at chinoiserie fabric lately, and I found a pattern I loved that (of course) was discontinued. I’d need a lot of it so it is not going to work because only a few yards were left.
XO,
Sheila
