  I dream…yes, I dream of sounds; fish splashing, birds chirping, darting to and fro…I dream of the lake…the sound of our boat churning…the grandchildren’s laughter as they swim…All those lovely sounds. • ~Her Chair Was Just Right~

  Here is a little sitting area, at our home,  ”The Painted Nest”. We use it mostly as a place to put on and take off our shoes. The chair, a vintage flea market find for $2.00, was in bad shape visually, but quite sound, structurally. So, The Muse was quick to grab this treasure! Upon bringing it back to the studio…it was sanded down~stained~glazed~the cane insets, painted a crackle white~the velvet green was painted with a hand-mixed fabric dye~and lastly, [...]

  The next step will be to add the color…fabrics, paint, etc. ~which are leaning in the aqua blue and butter gold family. I am going to use colored pencils in my hand sketch. If it is acceptable, then I will move on to my computer aided drawing tablet and begin the real life rendering. What do you think? From traditional to contemporary… Design takes many paths… Which path is your home on?

  Here is a wider pan of the mantle…with my finished muse and my wisteria zinc globes…that yes, I had to paint (the ceiling is getting bead-board…can we all say hallelujah?) Yes…here she is, my muse…well my idea of a garden muse.  Hand made by me using chicken wire and clay.  Layers of paint, and I do mean layers!  LOL…it is the first time I actually got excited about looking aged Do you like her?
