I have had loads of fun….the cupboards are actually now attached to the wall! And I adore the barn red paint glaze I made. For some added interest…I am toying with wood braid/twist molding. Do you like it? This little section is going to do something very special…it will hold a coffee maker… And we all know what an important appliance that is (don’t we)? LOL Did you like this? Monday’s Post ~ Prose & Blue Monday
When I was very young, (and still~even now) I would look at pictures ~ paintings…and make up stories! At times, they were not exactly as the artist had intended… Such is this work of a young, (oh, so young Muse), who fell under an enchanting spell of Tristan and Isolde. The Plummet A little maiden stood… Up high above the earth… The little m aid knew not… Her weight or girth… For suddenly… The sky gave way… And she fell [...]
Here is a wider pan of the mantle…with my finished muse and my wisteria zinc globes…that yes, I had to paint (the ceiling is getting bead-board…can we all say hallelujah?) Yes…here she is, my muse…well my idea of a garden muse. Hand made by me using chicken wire and clay. Layers of paint, and I do mean layers! LOL…it is the first time I actually got excited about looking aged Do you like her? Did you like this? Share it:Tweet
There are always rooms and spaces at The Painted Nest which need some sprucing up. Our beloved cottage is in a constant state of “creation”. And I love it, I certainly do For me, color is my companion. So imagine my beloved’s shock, when this color palette was placed before him! Admittedly, this would be a new path for me. The Muse has creamy antique white accents throughout her cottage…but there is not a room which totally embraces the hue. [...]
My Response To The Author Of When Least Expected
I whole~heartedly agree.Words can poison, words can sting, words can crush…if they are used with ill will and malice. And yet, the same pen can create love, joy, beauty and prose….it can spill words onto parchment so eloquent…the reader is taken to tears…The difference lies within the author, the writer, the user…and that is indeed a power that can be mind chilling and yet so satisfying for the soul.Love,The Muse Did you like this? RHYME TIME GAME: Rhyme Time CREATOR: The Muse OBJECTIVE: Interactive Fun PLAYERS: Readers RULES: The Muse begins the prose…the readers then add to the comment section (one, two, three or four lines) which “add” to the poem. Each reader must use the previous writer’s comments. The Muse or readers may add to the piece at any time. EXAMPLE: Muse writes “The sky is true blue.” Reader 1 writes “Is it true or just the hue?” Reader 2 writes “I can see [...]
Tablescape Tuesday hosted by Susan By now, most of you know that the design team here loves white china! It can be used in all types and styles of spaces…from formal to casual…from modern to victorian and everything in between. Even if a style request is not what you would do for yourself, there are always lessons to learn and challenges to win! And so, we offer yet, another example The modern touch begins when the square plates are used [...]
A farm gal Muse has lot’s to do… She tromps through mud in boots not shoes. Our little feathered cuties need lots of care… Warm fall sun and cool crisp air. Clucking and chirping a barn yard tune… They sing until they spy the moon! (aren’t they cute?) Did you like this? Share it:Tweet

Rules of Play: (1) I (The Muse) offer my first reader a word. (2) They must take that word and use it in a sentence. Posting it in the comment box (3) Then they must GIVE another word, whose letter starts with the last letter of the previous word…. Shall we play? The word which I gift to thee is: Customary (so the very next reader, should use the word customary in a sentence…and then offer up a NEW word, [...]
